Dri avast software7/9/2023 Think about it, this con artist immediately wanted a remote session on my computer, & immediately wanted a PayPal account, in addition to my credit card number two times. He said it'll actually be $70.00 I said this is the biggest rip off I've ever heard of, these guys are scam artists. The pop-up was the $23.88 for one year special. Really? This is a blatant lie, I was surfing the net when I got a pop-up from their free version antivirus program I was using. He then went on to say what I had clicked on for $23.88 was a special that they've already quit honoring a few minutes ago. He came back and said okay we're going to run it again, I entered all my credit card information for a second time, and he charged me the second time, but said there was a problem. The scammer put me on hold, said he needed to talk to a supervisor. I don't even know if I have a PayPal account, but I'm sure not giving it to the guy that wants to try to take remote control of my computer, who just charged my credit card but won't give me access to the antivirus program my card was charged for. What kind of privacy company is this? Needless to say I said no way am I letting you in my computer, then he attempted to force me to use a PayPal account. I called customer service and they claimed that I had attempted fraud, the agent immediately wanted to take remote control of my computer. I clicked activate in the confirmation email they sent me, after they had my credit card number and had billed me, but they won't activate the account. I just paid for a subscription to Avast antivirus for $23.88, plus tax brought it to $25.85. I had to get a new card with a new number so they could no longer charge me. If you can help me get my refund, I'd greatly appreciate it. This company is nothing but a bunch of thieves, taking our money. I still have not received my refund and have noticed they do the same scheme to many people. They assured me the money would be returned and gave me a refund # of **********. I only wanted my money returned to the bank account. I also got on the computer with Avast and again unsubscribed and spoke with a ********************* telling him or her I did not want their service. I immediately called the bank (***** Fargo) to notify they had fraudfully deducted said money. On 3/30/23, I checked my personal bank statement and noticed they had deducted $106.99 anyway. I did all the paperwork I could find to unsubscribe. I no longer had an Avast protected computer and was not interested in their program. On 2/28/23 Avast said I could renew program on 3/30/23.
